Retail therapy is about to get a boost. SkinHappy MediSpa is set to open its doors on the second floor of Kai Boutique.

SkinHappy MediSpa focuses on two of the most common skin issues: acne and facial pigmentation. The new location is an extension of the Kenner Dermatology Center (KDC) that’s located in the Castle Medical Center. KDC—owned by Dr. Julie Kenner, a board-certified dermatologist—is one of the most state-of-the-art dermatology facilities in Hawai‘i.

“I wanted to open SkinHappy MediSpa to supplement medical therapies for acne, speed along the healing process and to potentially provide an aesthetic alternative to oral anti-acne medications,” says Dr. Kenner. “Approximately 80 percent of all people between the ages of 11 and 30 suffer from acne, with many continuing to have acne into their 40s and beyond. These facial blemishes often negatively impact an individual’s self-confidence and sometimes his or her social and career choices.”

SkinHappy MediSpa offers medical facials, facial waxing and free facial consultations. While Dr. Kenner is quick to point out that not all skin issues can be treated with a facial, this medical’s spa focus on scientifically based skin care aims to provide more than just pampering with its results-based treatments.
